The Antigua Charter Yacht Show is just around the corner and once again the show promises a spectacular lineup of yachts. With more than 60 charter yachts planned to make an appearance, BOAT takes a closer look at some of the largest yachts in attendance ahead of the show next week…
Black Pearl
Stats: 105.3m, Oceanco, 2018, 10 guests (up to 14)
Highlights: Having been recently offered for charter, sailing yacht Black Pearl will be the largest yacht in attendance this year and will be anchored out in the bay. Holding the title of the second-largest sailing yacht on the water, Black Pearl took the industry by storm with her ground-breaking sail configuration – the world’s largest Dynarig, set over three 70.6-metre carbon masts and setting 2,934 square metres of sail. This propels her to speeds over 20 knots under sail and means she can complete a transatlantic crossing with zero fossil fuel emissions.
CC Summer
Stats: 95.3m, Lürssen, 2019, 12 guests, 30 crew
Highlights: CC-Summer has continued to captivate the market with her elegant lines, luminous interiors and impressive size. This year she will be making her debut at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show with Moran Yacht and Ship. Boasting a 12-metre swimming pool and a dedicated spa, there are abundant opportunities to relax and unwind on board. The primary charter guests can indulge in the vibrant bridge deck master suite, which features a private aft terrace, while a foredeck helipad ensures the charter party arrives in style. A self-playing Steinway piano can also be found on board.
Bold
Stats: 85.3 metres, Silver Yachts, 2019, 12 guests, 20 crew
Highlights: Ideal for exploring warmer climes, this 85.3-metre marvel will be gracing the show this year with her presence. Bold features large outdoor areas including a bar and Teppanyaki grill, an outdoor cinema, an eight-person hot tub and a lounge surrounding a firepit for balmy cocktail hours. The yacht will be located at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina for the show and is planned to be there for five days.
HBC
Alfa Nero
Stats: 81.3m, Oceanco, 2007 (2024), 12 guests, 26 crew
Highlights: Having remained in Antigua for some time, the famous 81.3-metre Alfa Nero will finally attend the show this year as an active participant. She has just undergone an extensive refit to restore her to her former glory and is ready to welcome brokers on board during the show. A key highlight is her huge aft deck and pool, which can be transformed into a flush entertainment space at the touch of a button.
Wheels
Highlights: A fine choice for family charters, the 75.6-metre Oceanco motor yacht Wheels will be in Antigua this year in all her glory. With seven decks and a volume of nearly 2,000GT, the yacht is filled with endless fun and entertainment, including a cinema, a fully equipped gym and an impressive array of water toys. She even has her own signature cocktail called “Hot Wheels”. Her interior is light and airy, with a stylish sea theme and an Asian touch running throughout.
Kenshō
Highlights: Instantly recognisable, the flowing lines and metallic blue-green hull are enough of a reason to charter this magnificent 74.9-metre yacht. Kenshō has an aft deck that does it all: social seating, dining, a party space and (of course) a pool area, located on the lower deck for “mesmerising views at the same level as the ocean”. A complementary spa pool features a cut-away glass side and a large sunbed, with a shape styled after a manta ray.
Starburst IV
Highlights: Perfect proportions, ample deck space and a sweeping superstructure – defined by a long, flowing window forward – are the defining features that make Starburst IV instantly recognisable. Inside, things are just as impressive thanks to the keen eye of Winch Design, with bright interiors, bold oceanic patterns and sculptures. The interior is festooned with deep nautical blues and plenty of texture, creating an elegant yet relaxed charter yacht, perfect for the Antiguan sun.
Naia
Stats: 73.6m, Freire, 2011 (2014), 12 guests, 23 crew
Highlights: For those keen on exploring the world in the utmost comfort, Naia is the perfect choice. The 73.6-metre is a real hardy expedition yacht, yet these capabilities are concealed in her beautiful and well-proportioned exterior and refined, zen-like interiors. The bridge deck lounge has sophisticated leather flooring, mild brown wood panels and cabinetry. Diving is a key highlight on board thanks to an extensive inventory of equipment and a dedicated diving room.
Sherakhan
Highlights: First launched in 1966 by Dutch yard Vuyk as the passenger ship Princess Margaret, Sherakhan‘s life on the charter market began in 2005 when she was extensively rebuilt as a luxury vessel. Today she is a charter machine, comfortable circumnavigating the world while carrying guests in supreme comfort. Her interiors follow a crisp white palette in an array of subtle textures, offering a fresh canvas to complement the array of onboard curios, which have been collected over her travels. With more than enough room on board for her full complement of 26 guests, she even has an 18-person Jacuzzi on the top deck.
